The ARKTIS Fleece by MerkelGEAR is a proper, heavy midlayer. A true „Super-Fleece“, which will be available by April 2025! This new multitalent offers both, a modern fit and an exceptionally good price. The main fabrics consist of two actulal fabrics: the primary fabric is a two-tone, two-layer fabric which was developed by MerkelGEAR: a strong fabric which delivers both, warmth and sturdyness and which ranks amongst the most silent fabrics you’ll find on the market. The inside is a very thick sherpa in dark gray – ideal to trap as much insulation air as one can wish for. The second main fabric is a highly innovative woven(!) fleece fabric which is much stronger than all the usual knitted fleece fabrics. This fabric is worked in the arm pits, along the inside of the actual arms, and on the high back just below the collar, where one tends to transpire rather quickly. Both these fabrics do come with Polygiene®-Technology to prevent growth of bacteria. Like all the garments by MerkelGEAR does the ARKTIS fleece offer big sized zippers by YKK®. All seams are worked as 2x-seams; important sections are reinforced with European-made Strong-X-fabrics: an almost unbreakable combination of Cordura® and Dyneema®. The inside of the collar as well as the main pockets are lined with super-soft Deerskin fabric. This fabric is so cozy, you’ll not want to take your hands from the pockets. The position of the 2 large handwarmer pockets are similar to the ones of our HELIX Fleece: very comfortable and high enough so that one can wear a backpack’s hipbelt. This jacket is a true allrounder which will satisfy for years and for 365 days outdoors!
